A Little Hope Foundation has been encouraging underprivileged students to achieve higher educational goals and further develop during their careers since its foundation.

They have created the Step Up Scholarship designed to support needs of underrepresented and underprivileged children.

They have abilities and skills to achieve higher goals, but sometimes financial situations does not allow them to.

Through education, healthcare, the arts, and youth leadership development this organization has helped numerous people and is striving to help even more.

A Little Hope Foundation is a not-for-profit organization which wants to provide equal opportunity for all children.

A Little Hope Foundation Step Up Scholarship will be awarded to one person and the award is $2,500.

The scholarship is awarded in spring and fall each year.

Who's eligible?

In order to be eligible candidate for this award, you will have to be a child of single parents plus meet the other eligibility criteria.

You have to have a desire to contribute to both your family and community through higher education which will be in one of the following field of study:

(1) science, technology, engineering, or mathematics,

(2) educating children, and

(3) the creative arts.

Applicants must demonstrate high performance by outstanding achievement in school.

Who the winner is will be determined by the selection committee, chaired by Susie Hernandez.

She is an executive director of programming at PBS affiliate KQED in San Francisco.

How to Apply

If you find yourself eligible, you can apply by downloading and filling out the application form which can be found on the scholarship provider’s official website and sending it to alittlehopefoundation.org@gmail.com prior to deadlines.

Deadline for the fall semester is June 30th and October  30th for the  Spring Semester.

Make sure to clearly fill in the data and write a maximum 500 words essay on a separate sheet.

In this essay, you are supposed to provide the answer to the following question.

Describe how volunteer or community service has shaped who you are today and what community service has taught you. Also, discuss in your essay about any challenges or obstacles you have dealt with and overcome in life and how this will help you succeed in college and beyond.
