TSGC Columbia Crew Memorial Undergraduate Scholarships

Texas Space Grant Consortium and the Aviation and Space Foundation of Texas together with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration have established this STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) scholarship in memory of the Space Shuttle Columbia astronauts.

These scholarships aimed at high-quality students who are trying to reach higher education goal through graduate studies in science, technology, engineering and mathematics field.

The criteria for winner selection will be based on his/her excellence in academics, participation in Science, Technology, Engineering and/or Mathematics education projects, as well as other research projects and exhibited leadership qualities.

Who's eligible?

Just as any other scholarship, the committee determines certain eligibility requirements that need to be fulfilled so that the applicant is accepted as a possible award winner.

It is good to know that the Texas Space Grant Consortium encourages participation by members of underrepresented groups.

All TSGC Scholarship recipients must be citizens of the United States and they need to be registered for at least a half-time course load or more at a TSGC member institution in good standing as a sophomore at a 2-year institution or a sophomore, junior or senior at a 4-year institution or a first- or second-year student at a medical school.

Make sure you meet these criteria.

Otherwise, your application will be rejected and you will not be among prospective award recipients.

How to Apply

Once you determine that you are eligible for this award, you are highly encouraged to apply.

The application process starts with completing and submitting an Online application which is available on the scholarship provider’s official website once the application process opens.

Besides providing your personal and educational details through the application form, you are supposed to provide additional documentation.

This includes one letter of recommendation which has to be e-mailed or faxed to TSGC office and transcripts from all universities that you have attended.

Scholarship applications must be submitted online by April 26, while supporting material must arrive within 7 calendar days of the application deadline.
