Full Description

The Kagan Fellowship award is $20,000 per year and it can be renewed for a second consecutive year, but this will be the subject to the Admissions Committee’s approval.

The award cannot be used for any purposes rather than research, so only candidates whose tuition costs are already covered are eligible to apply.

All application material must be submitted into the Fluxx portal system before December 23rd when the application process finishes.

Who's eligible?

The eligibility requirements that you have to be familiar with are the following:

To be eligible for the Saul Kagan Fellowship In Advanced Shoah Studies you must be in the dissertation phase of a Ph.D. program that supports their research of the Holocaust.

If you are wondering what the eligible disciplines are, we have to mention that those are the disciplines in which serious research will make the greatest contribution to future knowledge and understanding of the Holocaust such as the fields of Anthropology, Cultural Studies, Jewish Studies, History, Political Science, Philosophy, Religion, Sociology, and Women’s Studies.

Furthermore, the applicant’s university must have the necessary faculty, courses and research materials to produce first-class doctorates and enable the candidate to focus on Holocaust studies.

When determining the most deserving candidate, the committee will evaluate both the candidate and the ability of the candidate’s chosen institution to train Holocaust scholars.

A candidate who has applied for other funding is eligible to apply to the Kagan Fellowship.
