The Charles J. Hasbrouck Memorial Scholarship

Historic Huguenot Street is pleased to offer a number of internship opportunities every year to all students beyond their freshman year of college and one of them is the Charles J. Hasbrouck Memorial Scholarship which is administered jointly with the Hasbrouck Family Association.

The Charles J. Hasbrouck Memorial Scholarship was originally established in 1988t and this is an amazing scholarship offering a $1,000 award annually.

Full Description

The award amount is $1000 and only one person will be the winner.

Decisions regarding awards are made by early December and if you happen to be the lucky recipient, you will be informed about that in mid-December.

Awards are mailed directly to the college or university which the recipient attends in January.

Who's eligible?

In order to be eligible to apply and that your application is considered for the award,  you must be studying historic preservation, architecture, the conservation of artifacts and manuscripts, and/or the education of the public about local history in accordance with HHS’ mission.

Students enrolling as undergraduate freshmen are not eligible.

People who do not meet the eligibility criteria should not waste their time applying as their application will be rejected.

How to Apply

If you are interested in applying for this scholarship, you need to complete application packets and submit them before the application process finishes on August 31st.

Besides the completed application form that eligible applicants should submit, they need to provide two letters of recommendation, at least one must be from a college or university professor, a statement of their goals, and an official transcript.

Make sure that transcripts are official copies and must either be mailed directly to Historic Huguenot Street or be sent in an unopened, sealed and marked envelope from the registrar.
