When we speak about The Ruby’s Rainbow Scholarship we need to emphasize the fact that it is dedicated to spreading awareness of the capabilities of people with Down syndrome and supporting their dreams of higher education, especially if they have financial difficulties on one hand and capabilities on the other.
Ruby’s Rainbow is a non-profit organization which has been founded in honor of a little girl named Ruby who was born with a 21st chromosome.
Even though she had Down syndrome, her family saw bright future for her in terms of education and gave her every opportunity to learn, grow, flourish and what is even more fascinating, to become an important contributor to society and the community.
Nowadays, the main aim of the Ruby’s Rainbow scholarship is to help the adults with Down syndrome who are seeking post-secondary education, enrichment or vocational classes.
That way, not only their dreams of higher education will be made true, but also the spreading of awareness of the capabilities and general awesomeness of people with Down syndrome will be achieved.
The amount of money that you might receive if you happen to be the lucky recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Scholarships ranges between $1,000 and $10,000.
The award must be used within one academic year.
In order to be eligible for the amazing Ruby’s Rainbow Scholarship, you have to be still in high school, over 18 years of age and have plans to graduate in the spring of the year in which you apply.
