The scholarship is offered with the aim to provide an opportunity for students who are eager to advance their education and anti-fraud career paths.

In the majority of cases, the scholarship winners who are outstanding and deserving students become Certified Fraud Examiners.

The lucky winner will be determined on the basis of:

  • Completed scholarship application
  • Recommendation Forms
  • Fraud-related interests, activities, goals and desired career path.
  • Overall academic achievement demonstrated by transcripts

The Ritchie-Jennings Memorial scholarship award amounts are $10,000, $5,000, $2,500, and $1,000 and it includes a one-year ACFE Student Associate membership.

Awards are paid directly to the award recipient’s university.

Who's eligible?

So as to be able to apply for the Ritchie-Jennings Memorial Scholarship, applicants have to meet the eligibility criteria.

The requirement is that scholarship applicants must currently be enrolled full-time at an accredited, four-year college or university.

Then, they must have a declared major or minor in accounting, business administration, finance or criminal justice and demonstrate a desire to pursue a career in fraud examination or similar anti-fraud profession.

Applicants must be undergraduates enrolled 9 semester hours per term or graduates enrolled 6 semester hours per term.

The following persons are not eligible to apply:

  • Past scholarship award recipients
  • High school students
  • Junior college or community college students
  • College or university students graduating in 2020
  • ACFE Chapter directors or officers

Ineligible applications will be rejected.

How to Apply

The only way of applying for this award is to submit a Completed Ritchie-Jennings Memorial Scholarship application which can be found on the scholarship provider’s website.

You are supposed to provide honest and accurate answers to all the required questions.

Furthermore, you are required to provide Official Transcript(s) showing all completed college or university courses and two letters of recommendation of which at least one will be from a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or a professor.

During the application process, you will need to provide information on two recommenders who will receive a link to upload their individual recommendation forms on your behalf.

The Application Deadline is January 30tha and Scholarship Award Recipients will be announced on April 20th.
