The Phoenix Pride Scholarship Fund is doing its best to provide scholarships for students who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, or Queer (LGBTQ) OR LGBTQ Allies each year since its foundation, and it is managing it very successfully.

The fund was created by Phoenix Pride to support LGBTQ students and LGBTQ Allies in furthering their educational goals and up to now, it has helped so many young students who had struggled with financial need and expensive educational costs.

The Phoenix Pride Scholarship Program is a charitable program and the funds are administered by the Arizona Community Foundation.

Full Description

The Phoenix Pride Scholarship Fund has awarded $295,500 in scholarships.

If you consider yourself eligible and apply for this amazing award, you might become one of the nine winners who will get $5000 which will not only expand your educational opportunities but would also play a crucial role in supporting you to continue with pursuing your higher education degree.

Who's eligible?

When the eligibility requirements are in question, prospective scholars need to get acquainted with them prior to submitting the application, as those who are ineligible would not be accepted.

An eligible applicant is a person who is a resident of Arizona and who is enrolled as full-time students while receiving the scholarship.

He/she has to have a minimum 12 credits for undergraduate and 9 credits for graduate per semester.

Furthermore, he/she must be graduating high school seniors or current undergraduate students accepted to and/or attending a U.S. Department of Education approved Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) institution.

Also, a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA in high school, general education degree (GED), college, career/tech school or other accredited institution is obligatory.

Last, but not least, he/she has to be an LGBTQ member or an ally with a record of involvement in the local community.

How to Apply

The Pride Scholarship Application opens somewhere in Mid/Late January and then you will be able to fill out the application form and submit it so as to become a possible scholarship winner.

Besides submitting an application, you need to provide a letter of recommendation from an LGBTQ Community Leader and describe your involvement in the community as well as your plans once you have completed your education.
