The Texas Wildlife Association Foundation (TWAF) and the San Antonio Livestock Exposition, Inc. (SALE) are organizations which are trying to save our natural resources, by balancing the needs of man and nature.

In order that their aspirations continue to be successful, they need to educate future leaders and support them during their hard times.

It has been giving financial aid to the deserving students who show high interest in these fields for twelve years up to now, which is estimated to exceeds the amount of $550,000.

Full Description

The Texas Wildlife Association Foundation (TWAF) together with the San Antonio Livestock Exposition, Inc.  offer five Natural Resource-Excellence in Education Scholarships every autumn.

The scholarships are aimed at freshmen at Texas universities who are pursuing a degree in agricultural science, wildlife science, forestry, range science, or similar fields.

 

Who's eligible?

So as to be eligible for the Texas Wildlife Association Foundation scholarship, you will need to meet certain eligibility criteria.

You have to be a student who is a Texas resident, a graduate of a Texas high school and you have to be enrolled on a full-time basis in a Texas accredited college or university.

Full time basis means that you need to have minimum 12 credit hours per semester and a minimum 2.5 GPA per semester.

Furthermore, you need to be a “Freshman” or in first year after high school in the accredited program

As a citizen of the United States, you will be asked to provide a valid social security number if you are lucky enough to be chosen.

How to Apply

According to the application process, you will have to provide a proof of your active participation in activities, internships, and experience related to the field of natural resource conservation in high school and/or college.

You will have to provide documents which prove your honors, awards, and leadership skills and degree plan option and academic achievements.

You will be asked to write essay as your answer to the set question and you should submit recommendation letters, as well.

All these will be taken into consideration when choosing the recipient and the overall quality of your essay responses can contribute a lot.
