The GFWC Massachusetts Scholarships are designed for a woman maintaining a legal residence in Massachusetts for a minimum of 5 years.

They have noticed the importance of supporting young women in achieving their educational goals, thus encouraging new students to enroll in higher education institutions, especially in the STEM fields.

Also, they are aware of the fact that by investing in young generations, they are actually investing in the future of the state.

The scholarships are available thanks to the General Federation Of Women’s Clubs Of Massachusetts and the Memorial Education Fund Fellowships offer at least five $3,000 awards for graduate study in a STEAM Career Field – Science Technology Engineering Arts Mathematics.

It is very important to note that the fields of study change each year, so you should get familiar with the updated details once the application process starts each year.

Ineligible, incomplete and late application forms will be rejected.

Who's eligible?

In order to be accepted as a possible scholarship winner, the applicant has to meet the qualifications set by the committee.

This means that only women maintaining legal residence in Massachusetts for a minimum of five years are eligible to apply for the GFWC of Massachusetts Memorial Education Fellowships.

How to Apply

When the application requirements are in question, here is what the applicant must provide so that her application package is considered complete:

  • Completed Application Form postmarked no later than March 1st when the application process ends.
  • Personal Statement which is not more than 500 words addressing professional goals and financial need.
  • Official transcript(s) of grades from all colleges (and graduate schools if attended).
  • Letter of reference from the college department chair or recent employer
  • Copy of Massachusetts Driver’s License.
  • Original Packet of materials (above 1-5) plus 3 copies.

If you happen to be the finalist, you will be notified by March 15th of the date and time for a personal interview, as a part of the application procedure.

Interviews will be held at GFWC of MA Headquarters, 245 Dutton Road, Sudbury, MA.
