Bill & Shireen Kirk Scholarship Fund

Bill and Shireen Kirk endowed the Kirk Scholars Program in 2019, working with the Asphalt Institute Foundation as program administrator with the aim to assist need-based students with higher education costs.

Full Description

The award will be paid directly to the recipients chosen college or university and it can be used for tuition, fees and course-related expenses.

Who's eligible?

Prior to submitting your application form, make sure you are familiar with and that you fulfill the eligibility requirements determined for this award.

The only way of being accepted as a possible winner is to be:

Applicants from any U.S. state, but the preference will be given to residents of Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia or West Virginia.

Applicants must be classified as juniors or seniors in bachelor’s degree programs or will be candidates for degrees in masters or doctorate degree programs, in the academic years for which the scholarship awards are granted.

Applicants must be pursuing their degree in one (or more) of the following areas: business, chemistry, civil engineering, construction management, marketing or sales.

Applicants must exhibit a financial need.

How to Apply

Applicants will be taken to the Cognito Forms website to complete the application form.

In case your university’s server has blocked the Cognito Forms website and the online application does not load, please download a PDF of the scholarship application which is available on the scholarship provider’s website.

You are supposed to attach a one-page resume highlighting your education, community service, extracurricular activities, and work experience and attach a financial need assessment, providing an estimate of how much money will be available to finance your education for the upcoming school year.

Furthermore, you are required to attach two letters of recommendation describing characteristics such as citizenship, responsibility, and potential and one must be from a college professor or instructor.

All applications and support materials must be submitted no later than February 15th.

If you happen to get the award, you must meet the recipient’s requirementsn.

You must be a full-time student each semester unless an exception is requested in writing and approved.

You will be required to furnish a transcript and status report at the end of each semester before additional money is awarded.
