Pre-Veterinary and General Animal Husbandry Education Scholarship

A $1,000 Annual College Scholarship offered by Golden Meadows Kennel to students enrolled in accredited colleges who are interested in general animal husbandry and/or pre-veterinary studies.

This scholarship is awarded by Golden Meadows Kennel, an association located in Southern California (Central Ventura Country) and specialized in breeding Golden Retriever and Vizsla puppies.

An active member in the Golden Retriever Club of America, the International All Breed Canine Association of America and the Golden Retriever Klubben from Sweden, Golden Meadows Kennel have been breeding Golden Retrievers for more than twenty five years and Vizlas for over nine years.

The scholarship targets students from accredited American colleges interested in general animal husbandry and/or pre-veterinary studies, with a great passion for and interest in animals and their well-being.

Their passions, interests and dedication must be foregrounded in the mandatory essay included in the application.

The amount of the scholarship is $1,000, the deadline for the application is December 31 and the winner will be notified by email not later than January 15.

Who's eligible?

Any students currently enrolled in accredited colleges and interested in general animal husbandry and/or pre-veterinary studies are eligible to apply. Successful applicants must be able to show through their essays their dedication to animal welfare, as well as their concrete plans after graduation and their opinion on how their college education will contribute to their future careers.

How to Apply

Potential applicants should fill the application form on the Golden Meadows Kennel’s website and, additionally, submit an essay of 1000 words explaining why they think they should receive this scholarship (by no later than December 31).

In this essay they should also explain what their goals after graduation are and how they intend to apply what they have learned during their studies in the future. Ideally, the essay should foreground their interest in the well-being of animals and how they plan to concretely contribute to animal welfare in the future.
